It's hot and it's sweaty but no matter what the elements may be, this historic bar where the gay revolution began should be on your NYC Pride to do list. The crowd is usually eclectic with a wide range of ages and outfit choices. Similar to NYC--- there is something for anyone. Word of Caution: When you go you should seriously consider goggles to protect your eyes. Walking into this bar can be dangerous due to the male dancers wildly thrusting their pelvises in animal print thongs near the entrance.

For the newest girl party in NYC the novelty still hasn't worn off, so it's a sure bet for Pride. The party will be taking over the whole bar which means double the space! The DJ will be good (DJ Tikka Masala from That’s my Jam), the girls will be pretty and shockingly you will actually be able to afford your drinks. This means you won't have to make out with Captain Muffin Top to get her to buy you a $9 beer. This place also has a spacious, clean private area to get to know your new friend better...the bathrooms. I've heard you can fit at least one new friend in there, maybe even two if your white v- neck is extra poppin’.

For Pride, Prop and Shescape are teaming up with this legendary girl party from LA. For its first east coast appearance, Truck stop promises to be one of the top picks for Pride. As seen on the reality tv show, Gimme Sugar, Truck stop is the party where lesbians check their social awkwardness at the door and spring break it up. With a great space, the Truck Stop girls, and one of the top female DJs, this party is a must do.

Packed into a bar that can feel at times like a cattle shoot, this party is normally the place to meet girls in their early twenties or Baby Mo's. The bar has recently been redecorated with an intense Point Blank/ Hawaiian lulu theme, which adds a new ambiance.

Winner of Go Mags "Most Eclectic Nightlife Award for 2010", Choice Cu*t parties are like visiting a little gay Epcot Center in NYC. The DYKE March is always an interesting affair--- to be viewed with a mixture of pride, (wow look at all those Lesbos!), curiosity, (where did all those Lesbos come from?) and concern (maybe some of those Lesbos should have kept their tops on!?). Either way, it’s a fun time and a good chunk of that crowd will be heading here post dyke march.

Do we even need to explain this? Note it: Crossing the street is not possible except at certain points, which can be a major pain in the a**. It’s also good to locate a bathroom near where you plan to station yourself because drinking massive quantities of bevies out of a plastic solo cup with require several tinkle breaks. Note it: One trick is to buy a bracelet to enter the nearest bar, think of it as a five dollar investment that will help you not pee your pants.

A summer fav, this is one of the city's better girl parties. If there was going to be a casting call for The Real L Word NYC, it would most likely happen here. The crowd is always pretty and the space is great but the drink prices are on the higher side. Although it is now the home of the $30 dollar bucket of beer! Note it: Maggie always breaks out some fun extras for holidays, we are hearing snow cone machines!

Mechanical bulls! Who cares what else is at the party? Oh ok, I guess it’s worth mentioning they will have celebrity hosts, the Candy Slice girls, people from some show I have never heard of and from that point, you will most likely be dancing your pants off. This is one of the Pride events that actually sounds different from the usual, and I love the Autostraddle site, so do yourself a favor and go check it out.

PROUD AS F*CK PARTY

Bar 13, 35 E 13th St
*Snapshot* normally has a crowd that looks like someone loaded up a cannon with hipsters from Wburg and fired them over to the mainland. The party briefly fled down to the lower East side but now it’s back at Bar 13, a great two level space in Union Square, just in time for Pride. Hooray for the return of the roof deck! Note it: Two-for-one drinks till 10 pm.
