What really happened the night the modern gay rights movement was born, from those who witnessed history.
Before Prop 8, before Pride parades, before PFLAG, there was Stonewall. On June 27, 1969, a police raid on the Stonewall Inn in New York City sparked a rebellion by patrons who just weren't going to take it anymore. The riots went on for six more days and from that unrest, the modern gay rights movement as born. Hear eyewitness accounts of what really happened, from some of the men who were there. Were it not for their scene, there might not be an OURscene. We salute all the Stonewall veterans!
