Thousands of NYC women take to the streets and head for the pier on Gay Pride Eve
The Saturday before New York City's Gay Pride parade is a day for the ladies. The festivities start as they have for the past 17 years - with a march known simply as the Dyke March. Equal parts protest, parade and party, women of all ages, sizes, shapes and colors converge to raise lesbian visibility and protest gender discrimination, harassment and violence against women. But the mood is far from somber; these ladies mean business, but in a fun way! And it truly is business in the front, party in the back, when Rapture on the River gets jumping when the sun goes down. This all-girl party under the stars features New York's hottest DJ's, live performances and gorgeous girls dancing the night away on a pier overlooking the Hudson River. OURsceneTV was there to check out the view, and it was amazing!
