Explosive Documentary About Mormon Church’s Campaign for Prop 8
We’ve all heard about the connection between the Mormon Church and California’s Proposition 8, the ballot measure that outlawed gay marriage, but a new documentary “8: The Mormon Proposition” blows the lid off the story. OURsceneTV sat down with Co-Directors Reed Cowan and Steven Greenstreet to get a preview of their explosive new documentary. Cowan and Greenstreet, both former Mormons, talk about the money, the power, the legal system and the Mormon Church’s active, secret movement against the LGBT community. You won’t believe your eyes….

Activism heats up for marriage equality
On Friday, February 12th, four activists from Queer Rising were arrested during a non-violent demonstration for marriage equality. The members of the group - Alan Bounville, Jake Goodman, Justin Elzie and Gabriel Yuri Bollag - chained themselves to each other in front of Manhattan’s marriage bureau. Earlier in the day, a half dozen same sex couples went to the marriage bureau to ask for marriage licenses and were refused.

Queer Rising is an activist group based in New York. Their message is simple: "tired of living our lives as 2nd class citizens without equal treatment under the law, we’ve organized ourselves to protect ourselves...Through peaceful demonstration, acts of civil disobedience (optional), & other means we will assert ourselves into the larger community as equals!"
